Aumann: “Mrs. Emma
Aumann, a resident of Spokane, and wife of the late Rev Jacob Aumann, a pioneer
of the Congregational Church, passed away July 5 and was buried Saturday, July
8, at Dusty, WA, with the Rev Lloyd Wiebe officiating. Mrs Aumann and her
husband served churches in South Dakota, California, and the county line church
between Odessa and Ritzville. The last church they served was in Dusty. She is
survived by two daughters, Mrs. Esther Vogler, Lacrosse, WA, and Mrs. Ruth Esch,
Spokane; three sons, Victor Aumann of Seattle, Dr Kurt Aumann, Corvalis, OR, and
Lothar Aumann, San Francisco, CA; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great
grandchildren.” (Odessa Record: 7-13-1972)
Aumann: “The Rev William Aumann, Spokane, retired German Congregational minister, died last Wednesday at a hospital there. He was well known in Odessa, and had held pastorates in Ritzville, Waterville, and Lacrosse, WA, Rupert, ID, in California and in South Dakota. He is survived by his widow, Emma C. Aumann, at the home; three sons, Cpt Lothar Aumann, who arrived home from New Guinea only four hours before his father’s death, and Lt Kurt Aumann and Sgt Victor Aumann, both with the armed forces in France, and three daughters, Mrs. Sam Bogler, Lacrosse; First Lt Ruth Aumann, army nurse in England, and Mrs. Elton Thompson, Elmira. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the church at Dusty, WA, with burial at Dusty.” (Odessa Record: 3-29-1945)
Scheideman, Martha: ( d. May 24, 1984) “Word was received recently of the death of Martha Scheideman at Walla Walla, WA, at Washington General Hospital on May 24, 1984. Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 26, 1984, in Waitsburg, WA from the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member. Burial was in the Dusty, WA, Cemetery. Mrs. Scheideman was born on Feb 7, 1898 in Bismarck, ND to Jacob P. and Theresa Patzer Weber. She moved to Odessa with her parents and later worked in Walla Walla for Dr Jantz as a dental assistant. Dr Jantz was the late husband of Ada Jantz of Odessa. On Sept 6, 1925 she was joined in marriage to Alfred Schimke. After eight short days of marriage Alfred lost his life in an accident. Martha then later married Jacob Stueckle on Jan 11, 1927 in Ritzville. They farmed in the Dusty and Prescott areas, settling in Waitsburg in 1950. Jacob died in 1963. In 1967 she was married to John Scheideman. He died in 1979. Martha lived in Spokane for a few years and spent the last three years in Walla Walla. Survivors include four daughters, Frieda Stueckle of Walla Walla; Clara Stacy of Naches, WA; Birdie Hollings of Spokane; and Lauretta McCaw of Waitsburg; three sons, Edwin Stueckle of Colfax; Walter Stueckle of Eureka, CA; and Victor Stueckle of Prescott; one sister, Mary Stueckle of Spokane; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.” (Odessa Record: 6-21-1984)
Schott: Rueben Schott, brother of Wilbert Schott of Odessa, died May 31, 1979, with burial at the Dusty Cemetery. He was born Oct 19, 1921 at Dusty, WA. Other survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, David of Wenatchee; two sisters, Mrs. Irwin Carlson of Mesa, WA, and Mrs. Florence Stoughton of Torrance, CA. (notes from Odessa Record: 6-07-1979)
Stueckle: “Funeral services were held for Jacob Stueckle of Waitsburg at the DeWitt Funeral Home in Walla Walla on Monday, Feb 4. Burial was in the Dusty, WA, cemetery. Mr Stueckle was born July 11, 1889, in Eureka, South Dakota. In 1905 he came west with his parents and settled in the Lacrosse area. He married Martha Weber of Odessa Jan 11, 1926. In 1936 he moved to Prescott where he farmed. Thirteen years ago he moved to Waitsburg but retained his farming interest in the Prescott area until three years ago when he retired because of ill health. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and served on the city council in Waitsburg. He passed away Jan 31 at his home in Waitsburg. Survivors include his wife, Martha, at the home; three sons, Edwin of Colfax; Walter of Eureka, CA; Victor of Prescott; four daughters, Freda Stueckle of Walla Walla; Clara Manuel of Yakima; Birdie Holling of Spokane and Loretta McCaw of Waitsburg. 19 grandchildren also survive.” (Odessa Record: 2-14-1963)
