She came to L'Erable, Iroquois county, Illinois, when she was twelve years of age, her father being an early pioneer in that vicinity. She was married February 22, 1868, to Raphael Greenwood at Bourbonais Grove, Kankakee county, Illinois. They lived in the same vicinity as her father. Eleven children were given to them, the first three dying in infancy. They came to Wilbur, Washington, in February 1893, and later settled near Creston where they resided until last September when Mrs. Greenwood's Health Compelled them to go to Davenport for physical attention. She failed very rapidly so they came to the home of the oldest daughter, Mrs. James Sullivan, on Bachelor Prairie, where she was cared for until her death. She was stricken Saturday, December 13, and failed rapidly becoming totally paralyzed finally, and death resulted Friday evening, December 19, at 6 o'clock, with her children near her. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Leonard having passed away six years ago; Lewis Greenwood of Hartline, Mrs. James Sullivan and Morris and Elsie Greenwood all of Creston; Mrs. George Scholer of Spokane; Mrs. Fred Lamotte of Opportunity, and Mrs. Harry Lumpert of Peach. Teter, formerly pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Creston and later an osteopath at Davenport, a warm friend of the entire family at 1 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, interment being in the Creston cemetery. Mrs. Greenwood had won many warm friends by her patient, loving, kindly ways, and the services were largley attended. She is mourned by many , and husband and children who were in her sphere will sadly miss her departed form. In their advancing years their friends and children could not but notice the deep love and devotion shown by wife and husband as "sweethearts" still in a deeper, truer way; and husband, alone in his weakness and age has the deepest sympathy from all.
