James Remely Beeks, Sr

"James Remely Beeks, Sr. died June 29, 2007 in The Dalles.

He was born in Dufur, Oregon on Oct. 15, 1928 to Vera V. (Martin) and Phillip Beeks.

On May 9, 1950, James joined the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged on May 25, 1951.

He worked for the railroad for ten years and also worked as a logger for Hegewald in the Stevenson/Carson area.

James enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and finishing, and collecting old artifacts.

Survivors include his children, James Jr., Phillip, and Claudia; fifteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled cremation arrangements."
