Mrs. Fred Lear’s Mother Passes Away

"Word has been received by Mrs. Fred Lear that her mother, Mrs. Charles Vaughn, passed away early Wednesday morning. Mrs. Vaughn progressed satisfactorily following surgery on September 14 but suffered a stroke October 1 from which she did not regain consciousness.

Private services will be held Thursday at Laurel, Delaware, with interment Friday at Hopewell, New Jersey.

Mrs. Vaughn spent the winter of 1950 here in Goldendale with her daughter. She will be remembered by many local people as she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and attended meetings and activities regularly."
