Ellen R. Radcliffe

"Ellen R. Adams was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, August 18, 1866, the daughter of Franklin F. and Katherine Ann (Buck) Adams. She resided in Pennsylvania during the early years of her life. Later with her family she moved to Salina county, Kansas. There she married John Jesse Radcliffe, September 9, 1885. They resided in Ellsworth county until 1915.

To them were born three sons, Franklin J., Hubert J., and Norman K., and two daughters, Marie and Kathryn. They had one adopted son, George D. Radcliffe, who resided with them from infancy.

In the fall of 1915 she moved with her family to Yakima, Wash. The following spring they moved to Goldendale where she resided until her death, December 25, 1942. Her husband, Jesse J. Radcliffe passed away March 20, 1928.

She was a kind and helpful neighbor and greatly loved by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn her passing, Hubert J. Radcliffe of The Dalles, Ore., George D. Radcliffe of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Marie Paull of Winslow, Ariz., Norman K. Radcliffe of Goldendale, and Mrs. Kathryn Reader of Roosevelt, Wash. Besides her children, two sisters, Mrs. Lavanda Sampson of Salina, Kans., Mrs. Jennie Sharkey of Marquette, Kans., and a brother, Roy Musselwhite of Marquette, Kansas, survive."
