John Lafayette Neal

"John L. Neal was born in Junction, Texas on February 19, 1897 and passed away at Brooks Park on Thursday, June 18, 1964 at the age of 67 years and four months.

Mr. Neal served in the first world war. He left Texas about 1926 and went to Colorado and then to Wyoming and about 1935 he moved to Washinton near Kelson and then in 1959 he moved to the Satus area where he lived the rest of his life. He was a naturalist and a taxidermist and had a small museum near Brooks Park.

He leaves behind his only son, Robert Marvin Neal, who is in the Air Force and is stationed in Japan."

Museum Owner is Found Dead

"John Neal, 67, was found dead Friday morning, June 19, in the kitchen of his small private museum just north of Brooks Memorial State Park. There was no evidence of foul play..."
