Margaret Alice Hill
"Margaret Alice Miller was born June 27, 1867 at Scio, Ore., the third child of Captain and Mrs. Samuel H. Miller, and passed away August 14, 1964
in a Vancouver hospital at the age of 97 years, one month and 18 days.
Her mother came to the Oregon Territory in 1851 with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Boyce. Dr. Boyce was one of the first doctors in the Oregon Territory.
In 1870 the family came to Klickitat county and homesteaded in the No. 6 area where she grew to womanhood. On July 16, 1889 she was married to James H. Hill, who taught school for many years in this county,
and to this union were born seven children: Harriet of Sumner; Jean, Sam and John who preceeded her in death; Kenneth of Goldendale; Margaret Frazier, Taft, Calif; and Elizabeth McKillip, Olympia.
Ten grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one great=great grandchild. A brother, William Miller, of Spokane, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and charter member of the Klickitat Pioneer Association.
Funeral services were held from the Knosher Funeral Home, Monday, August 17 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Virgil W. Borden officiating. Pallbearers were John McClanathan, Leo Garner, William Garner,
Henry Miller, Charles Wilson and Dave Thompson. Burial was made in the IOOF cemetery."
