News Items Anna May Cooper Ireland was born July 13, 1885 in Salem, Oregon. She married Ernest Ireland on February 9, 1915 in Everett, Snohomish County, WA. (Ernest was an immigrant who entered the US in 1909 from England via Canada). Anna and Ernest adopted a daughter, Anna Elizabeth (born about 1918 in WA.) Anna died on April 19, 1937 in Hood River, Oregon. Plot: Block Section 141 Lot 5 On May 3, 1939 Ernest married Katie L. Young in Klickitat County. Ernest died in 1963 and was buried in Stevenson Cemetery in Stevenson with his wife Katie. This information come from the WA State Archives, Oregon Death Index, U.S. Federal Censuses, Findagrave Stevenson Cemetery, and through Naturalization Records, specifically a Declaration of Intention for Ernest Ireland. Part of the time, Anna used her name as May Ann and Mary Ann. The name she married Ernest with was Mary A. Cooper. It is unknown whether “Cooper” was her maiden name or an earlier marriage. Obit Link Ralph Ireland was born on August 4, 1826 in East Sidon, Yorkshire, England. He married Ann Jane Oats on July 13, 1854. Ralph and Ann emigrated to the United States in 1860. Ann died in 1888. After Ann's passing, Ralph was married to Mrs. Magdalena Wetzel. She died in 1905. Ralph came to live with his son-in-law Charles Wetzel in Klickitat County approximately 1908. Iten was born on May 17, 1906 in Sacramento County. Her mother's maiden name was Davis. In the 1910 census, 4 year old Marie Iten (born in California) was living with her parents, Carrlie L and John J. Iten in Hartford, Snohomish, Washington. [This researcher does not know if the family was living in Klickitat County, or visiting family.] Carrie's father Lorenzo Davis was living in Goldendale when little Marie died.
