There is a W R Whitson family who is listed in the 1887, 1889 & 1892 WA State & Territorial Censuses.

1887 Census:

In the 1900 census, there is a Mary Whitson, age 70, born in August of 1829 in NY living with a Mary C. Fry (her daughter) who is 32, and born in Wisconsin. I believe that this is likely the same family. Mary Fry is widowed. There was a John Fry who drowned in the Klickitat River on June 26, 1899, and I think this is his widow.   Mary and Mary end up going to Nez Perce, Idaho
