Editorial Notes.

Word has been received in Port Townsend of a peculiar accident in the village of Quilcene. A man named Hodges had been troubled for some time by the visits to his ranch of a bear, and as he was away from the place much of the time, decided that the surest way to get the visitor would be to set a gun for him. This was done, but in some way Mr. Hodges himself sprung the trigger and received the charge intended for bruin. It was stated that the accident would probably not prove fatal, although quite serious.
