Charles Kingman Dies of Fractured Skull
Charles Kingman, district manager for the P.P.&L. Co. at White Bluffs, died as the result of a fall from the
platform of high tension pole near the sub-station. What caused Kingman to fall is not known since the juice had
been cut from wires on which he was working. There was a very high wind blowing. He had climbed a pole to replace
fuses that had blown out. He was seen to lose his balance and fell striking his head. He is survived by a wife
and two children.

George W. Kronkright, 72, of 334 N. Burke, Connell, died at Othello Hospital Friday.
He was born May 9, 1895, in Nebraska and moved to Connell in 1959. He was a former logger, working as a wood foreman in Idaho from 1923 until 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Nettle; two sons, John and Willfred, both of Connell; a brother, Sy, Brooks, Ore.; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Mavity, Florence, Mont.; Mrs. Verna Spencer, Woodenville; Mrs. Effie Neubauer, Grand Coulee; and Mrs. Pearl Gingerich, Pablo, Mont.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Connell Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Countryman officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Connell.

Vester Lee Kirby, 82, of 2000 N 22nd Ave., Pasco, retired general store operator in Kahlotus for 57 years, died Monday in Hillcrest Convalescent Center.
He was born in Indian Territory, Okla., and lived in the Tri-Cities area 57 years, returning to Pasco in 1981 after living in Portland and Kirkland since 1965.
He was a charter member of Pasco Elks Lodge 1730.
Survivors include son Terrance Kirby, San Francisco; sister Vera Vandenhook, Renton.
Services will be announced by Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home.

Roscoe George Kunkler, 90, of Richland, died Friday in Hillcrest Convalescent Center.
He was born in Lake City, Mo., and lived in the Tri-Cities since 1948.
He retired as a pipefitter in 1961 from General Electric; was an Army Veteran of World War I, member of Central United Protestant Church, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 598, F&AM Lodge 277 of Benton City.
Survivors include wife Jewell, sons John and David, both of Richland, JL of Portalus, NM, daughter Mildred Black, New Orleans, La., sister Mildred Buton, Tulsa, Okla., eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children in care of Gene Brotherton, P.O Box 2691, Pasco.
Friends may call at Einan's Funeral Home on Sunday 1 to 5 p.m., Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Jewell Kunkler, age 87, passed away Friday at the Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Pasco. She was born Jan 17, 1902, in Okmulgee, Okla., and was married to Roscoe G. Kunkler in Schulter, Okla., on Feb. 1, 1920. They came to the Tri-Cities in 1948.
Mrs. Kunkler was employed as an LPN and worked for Our Lady of Lourdes Health Center in Richland until her retirement in 1964. She was a member of the Central United Protestant Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons, John Kunkler of Richland, David Kunkler of Richland, and J.L. Kunkler of Portalus, N.M., one daughter, Mildred Ann Black of New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Modene McWithey of Pahrump, Nev., Alice Kraus of Pahrump, Nev., and Beulah Barnes of St. Helens, Calif.; two brothers, Jim Herndon of Redding, Calif., and Jack Herndon of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe, and two sons, Charles and Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Einan's Funeral Home, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may go to the Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland, or The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 510, Pasco.

Gustave Klundt, 88, of Pasco died Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes Health Center, Pasco.
Born in Page, Wash., he was a lifetime Tri-Cities resident. He was an auto mechanic.

Gus Klundt, 88, Pasco, passed away Aug. 21, 1992, at Our Lady of Lourdes. He was born Oct. 20, 1903, in Page, Wash., and has lived in the Tri-Cities all his life.
He is survived his wife of 59 years, Margaret (Irwin) Klundt; son and daughter-in-law John and Betty Klundt, Kennewick; Irwin and Trude Klundt, Bayfield, Colo.: grandchildren Tim, Tod and Tami Klundt, Kennewick; John, Christy, and Linda Klundt of Bayfield; two sisters, Edith Creswell and Jewell Tibbitts, Pasco; four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held July 25, at 1 p.m. at City View Cemetery, Pasco. Visitations 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Bruce Lee Memorial chapel. Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Elizabeth Klundt passed away January 1, 1997 at Chenoweth House in Kennewick.
Margaret was born April 3, 1910 in Fallon, Nevada. She made her home in Pasco, Washington for over 50 years.
She was a housewife and at one time was a clerk for Crescent Drug in Pasco. She loved bowling and playing bingo.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, John and Betty Klundt of Kennewick, and Irwin and Trude Klundt of Durango, Colorado, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Klundt in 1992.
Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. at Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel, 2804 West Lewis, Pasco. Interment will follow at City View Cemetery in Pasco.
Friends may call Friday, January 3, 1997, from Noon until 7:00 p.m. at Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel.

Othello - G.W. "Wes" Kliphardt, 68, Othello, died Sunday night while visiting relatives in Clarkston.
He was born in Connell and was a dryland wheat farmer. He came to Othello in 1939 from Walla Walla. He was a past master of Paul Revere Masonic Lodge and a past president of Othello Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, and two sons, Charles of La Grande, Ore., and Frederick of Warden.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Muscott Funeral Home.

Othello - Esther Rose Kliphardt, 79, long time Othello resident, died Friday in a Moses Lake hospital.
She was born in Connell and married Wesley Kliphardt in Walla Walla in 1933. He died in 1975.
She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Othello; member of the Othello Chapter OES; Othello Senior Citizens; and on the board of directors of Rainbow Girls.
Survivors include sons, Frederick and Charles Kliphardt, both Othello; brother, Alfred Lange, Seattle; and eight grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday in the Othello First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Bess Hampton Cemetery.

Charles Ellsworth Kelly, born August 20, 1890 in South Dakota passed away July 29 in Kennewick. He had been employed on the J.N. Ely ranch in Horse Heaven for the past year. His home was in Grandview where funeral services and burial will take place.
Surviving him are his wife Clara Kelly and five children, Mrs. Donald Davie, Pilot Rock, Ore., Mrs. Everett Carter, Kennewick, Mrs. Jack Legerwood, Sunnyside, and Donnie and Jim of Grandview.

Harold C Klusman, 69, of 1706 Gaillard Place, Richland, died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Claytonia, Neb., and had lived in Richland since 1944.
He was a retired instrument technician for Rockwell Internation (sic) and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ (sic) of Latter Day Saints and United Nuclear Retirees.
Survivors include wife Patricia; daughters Janice McCurdy, Richland; Judy Alegria, Spokane; son Noram (sic) Klusman, Eugene, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Reorganized LDS Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice in care of Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, 1149 N Edison St., Kennewick, or American Cancer Society in care of Mrs G R McKinney, 511 Symons St., Richland.

Hermiston – Little Rose Kreger, 69, a resident of Boardman since 1979, died Wednesday in Good Samaritan Center.
She was born in McCurtain County, Okla., and moved to Sweet Home, Ore., in 1953.
She married John Lamberty in 1960 and he died in 1972. She married Bill Kreger in 1979.
Survivors include daughter Roselene Marie Loree, Sweet Home; sister Lona Snow, Wright City, Okla., Helen Willis, Sweet Home; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services are schedule at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Boardman Community Church with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Boardman. Memorial may be made to the Oregon Kidney Association. Burns Mortuary is in charge.

Ichiro (Ich) Konishi, 45, of Warden, died Thursday as a result of an accident.
He was born in Toppenish and received his schooling in Toppenish and Heart Mountain, Wyo. He has farmed in Moses Lake and Warden since 1948.
Survivors include his wife Jean; daughters Tamira, Linda and Tracy, all at home; mother Mrs Frank Konishi, Moses Lake; brother Joe, Quincy; sisters Mrs Ned Osumi, Mrs Tom Kikuchi, Mrs Frank Koba, Mrs Jack Hattori, all Moses Lake, Mrs Archie Nakamura, Seattle, and Mrs Charles Bloom, Lewiston, Idaho.
Services are pending at the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Moses Lake.

Laura B Kouns, 94, of 2915 W Seventh Street, Kennewick, died today at Heather House. She was born Feb. 8, 1873, in Body, Kan., and moved here four years ago. She was a honorary member of the VFW Auxiliary.
