MR. AND MRS. GEORGE BAILEY
ENTERTAINED MANY OF THEIR GOOD FREINDS.
ASOTIN SENTINEL

A PARTY OF SIXTY OR MORE FREINDS WERE MOST HOSPITABLY ENTERTAINED
BY MR. AND MRS. GEORGE W. BAILEY LAST FRIDAY EVENING,
AT THEIR PLEASANT HOME ON CLEVELAND STREET.
THE FOUR LARGE ROOMS THAT WERE THROWN INTO ONE,
WERE BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED WITH STRANDS OF EVERGREENS, POTTED PLANTS,
TOGETHER WITH MANY SMALL ELECTRIC LIGHTS SCATTERED HERE AND THERE,
PRESENTED A BEAUTIFUL AND PLEASING SIGHT.
THE PRINCIPAL AMUSEMENT OF THE EVENING WAS A GUESSING CONTEST.
EACH GUEST PRESENT REPRESENTED SOMETHING THEY LIKED BEST AND THE
OBJECT WAS TO SEE HOW MANY OF THE CHARACTERS EACH PERSON COULD MAKE OUT.
MRS. LEO GORDON PROVED THE CLEAREST WITTED AMONG THE LADIES AND WAS
AWARDED THE LADIES PRIZE,
WHICH WAS A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE HAND PAINTED.
GEO. H. RUMMENS WAS THE FORTUNATE ONE AMONG THE GENTLEMEN,
AND WAS PRESENTED WITH A GOLD MOUNTED ARROW HEAD CRAVAT PIN.
MRS. GARRISON AND CHARLES FLORENCE,
AFTER HARD WORK, SUCCEEDED IN CAPTURING THE CONSOLATION GIFTS.
REFRESHMENTS OF A DAINTY AND TEMPTING CHARACTER,
WERE SERVED-MRS. MERCHANT AND MISSES STEEN AND ROGERS ASSISTING THE HOSTESS.
DR. BRAZEAU FAVORED THE PARTY WITH A COUPLE OF VIOLIN SELECTIONS.
THE EVENING WAS ONE OF RARE ENJOYMENT,
AND ABOUT MIDNIGHT THE GUESTS TOOK THEIR DEPARTURE,
GRATEFULLY THANKING MR. AND MRS.BAILEY FOR SUCH A GOOD TIME.
